ACCIPITRIFORMES: Accipitridae
Milvus migrans
A Black Kite flies low ready to swoop on the tiny fish swimming across the shallow water of a concrete causeway fording an intermittent creek.
Each fish would not make much of a feed but the dozens of Black Kites at this spot suggested that the struggle of hundreds of the little silver animals to get themselves upstream would finish at the ford.
